The danceshool SEAD is an international well known dance school based in Salzburg. For my whole live i was fascinated by dancing especially by modern dance. Therefore it was obvious to book models from the dance school. What i didn´t expect was how inspiring the meeting with the pupils will be. The energy, presence, elegance and the improvisation talent made them ideal models for me. In my work i try to capture these elements. The real obvious parallel between painting and dancing is the balance between calm and energy.

oil on canvas 120x100cm 2025 It's curious that I always paint summer scenes in the depths of winter. Perhaps it's a kind of holiday in the mind. Watching over my children in the water is simply part of summer. I enjoy it. It brings back memories of my own childhood, while hoping that no one gets hurt. In this painting, however, the children seem strangely unsettling. Standing above the woman, they appear to watch her as much as she watches them.

oil on canvas 120 × 100 cm, 2026 The uplifting gesture and upward gaze are counterbalanced by the imposing vertical rock face of Mount Traunstein in the background. The warm tones of the figure's skin are echoed in the mountain, creating a subtle visual connection between body and landscape. The girl's expression conveys an almost manic sense of euphoria. As in many of my works, the composition and the interplay of contrasts charge the scene with emotional intensity.

the cut

the cut

oil on canvas 140x100cm 2023 t's kind of shocking to see a girl cutting her hair. Why is that so? We immediately ask ourselves why she is doing that. I kind of emphasised that idea with the strict composition which let you unconsciously think that something maybe bad has happened.

out of the queue, oil on canvas 80x150cm 2018

The girl appears somewhat lost and uncertain. Behind her, the anonymous crowd represents conformity, uniformity, and the pressure to blend in. The painting poses an open question: will she return to the safety of the crowd, or will she choose her own path? It reflects the tension between the desire to belong and the courage to define one's own identity.

selfie figure

selfie figure

oil on canvas 185x80cm 2018 I painted this work when the selfie trend was still relatively new. It felt strange to see people constantly photographing themselves in front of buildings, monuments, and other landmarks. The painting reflects this shift in the way we experience places—where documenting ourselves often became more important than experiencing the moment itself. It explores the relationship between self-image, performance, and the growing influence of social media on everyay live.

oil on canvas, 140x100, 2020 The symbols on the blackboard behind the girl represent the issues she is confronted with during adolescence—sexism, boys, drugs, and the pressures of growing up. Although she faces the viewer directly, she appears slightly intimidated, reflecting the uncertainty and vulnerability that often accompany this stage of life. The painting explores the overwhelming complexity of adolescence and the expectations imposed on young women.

150x90cm 2020 The dramatic pose and the dark, atmospheric background are contrasted by the brightly coloured balloon crown. This unexpected element undermines the seriousness of the scene, introducing a sense of playfulness and irony. The painting explores how easily our perception of an image can shift through a single absurd detail, questioning the authority and emotional weight we instinctively assign to portraits.

woke

woke

oil on canvas 140x100cm 2022 The symbols and objects in the background represent the challenges the girl faces at her age—boys, drugs, sexism, and the pressures of growing up. Despite this, she appears calm, confident, and completely at ease with herself. I explored a similar theme in Teenage Mural, where the girl appears noticeably more intimidated by her surroundings. In this painting, however, she confronts these challenges with confidence and self-assurance.

mother

oil on canvas 140x100cm 2022 The balloon could be a symbol for the womb. The power of a woman to create a new live with her body is really amazing.

plait

plait

120x80x2cm 2026 In my latest work, a young girl is depicted in a posture that is both tense and vulnerable, yet powerful. Her head tilted back and the light gradually brightening upward make her appear as if she is striving inwardly toward something higher, or searching for a moment of clarity. Yet her hands pull at her braided plait, as if she is still holding herself back. The warm, glowing skin tones stand in strong contrast to the cool background, intensifying the emotional impact

oil on canas 120x100cm The swim ring is a compelling visual element for me. It deliberately does not blend into the cool, greyish color palette of the painting and instead creates a strong visual accent. At the same time, it evokes associations with childhood, summer, and lightness, thus standing in a conscious tension with the restrained mood of the work. In the background, the Traunstein in Gmunden can be seen. It forms a warm contrast to the rather cool skin tones of the girl.

performance 2

performance 2

120x80 2025 In this work, I once again place the themes of performance and staging at the center. The small curtain positioned to the side serves as a reminder that we always move on a stage whether consciously or unconsciously. The ruffled collar refers to earlier centuries, when making an impressive appearance was just as important as it is today. Together with the classical background, it becomes a homage to the old masters.

Öl auf Leinwand 120x100cm 2024 The dramatic composition, the serious, focused expression, and the gloomy forest in the background suggest that this is about more than just a teenager playing with building blocks. She arranges the blocks with great precision—it seems to be of crucial importance.

wings

wings

oil on canvas,140 x 100 cm. The girl isn’t really an angel, and the wings aren’t real — she’s simply playing with the idea and enjoying it. The composition, color palette, and theme are strongly influenced by William Bouguereau, whom I greatly admire. No one could mix skin tones more beautifully than he could. However, his subjects are often hopelessly sentimental — something I’ve approached here with a playful wink.

the red thread Reserved

the red thread Reserved

oil on canvas 110x90cm 2025 With closed eyes and an almost tender gesture, the girl ties a brightly red thread around her neck. This act can carry a multitude of meanings. Is it a conscious act of self-binding, or an admission of belonging, love, or responsibility? Perhaps she is also freeing herself from a bond, and the bow will be undone.

stand up,

stand up,

oil on canvas 150x90cm 2025 The dark forest and the constricting composition suggest an imminent threat. The expression on the girl's face, as well as her posture, convey a palpable tension. One wonders what she sees—has she just emerged from the forest, or is she about to step into it? I enjoy creating such scenes because they immediately spark a story in the viewer's mind, allowing their imagination to take flight.

140x100x2cm The girl's expression and pose in my painting are meant to convey a sense of religious rapture, as if she were experiencing a vision or divine revelation. The barren, simple landscape enhances the feeling of solitude and introspection. With this composition, I aim to pay homage to old masters like William Bouguereau and Caravaggio, who depicted similar themes with great emotional depth. The seriousness of their work fascinates me and inspires my own artistic exploration.

oil on canvas 140x100cm 2024 The man faces the viewer directly with a protective posture, while the woman seems to gaze elsewhere, lost in thought. Their closeness, along with the dramatic lighting, could suggest themes of intimacy, performance, or even being hunted. The moon-like orb in the background adds to the mystery, making it unclear whether they are on a stage or in a symbolic, dreamlike space.

ping pong

oil on canvas 140x100cm 2022 The painting combines a sense of summer ease, with sailboats and a beach, with surreal elements of irritation. It plays with contrasts such as seriousness and playfulness, while questioning the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. The complicated posture might symbolize, for instance, how we tackle challenges in creative ways.

Oil on canvas, 140 × 100 cm, 2023 In my work, the landscape functions both as a reflection of the inner world and as a compositional element. The white blossoms the girl holds symbolize innocence and new beginnings. Her distant gaze recalls traditional depictions of the Virgin Mary, lending the scene a quiet, almost sacred quality. The entire composition is rich in symbolism, inviting the viewer to look beyond the literal image and enter a more contemplative space.

The boy embraces the girl around her waist, his face hidden, giving him a submissive appearance. Yet the strength of his grip also feels demanding. The girl gazes down at him with an expression difficult to read, somewhere between sadness and compassion. In the background, a vast landscape stretches out, evoking a sense of freedom that she secretly seems to long for.
